Seriously though COVID-19. Check back soon :0
I will be conducting my ritual performance « GO HOME » in order to honor Fil-Am heroes during our history month, as their historic legacies are tied to mine via inherited wartime memories held within the body and heart. If you love Carlos Bulosan as much as I do, you’ll understand what I mean by that. The ritual also includes the activation of  multiple installed edible and semi-precious materials. Thanks to the generosity of our funders for the series « Breaking Bread, » the event is free for you. (Due to sensitive imagery, not recommended for children).

I will be performing in the West Coast premiere tour of the opera The WANT, by Adam Linder!
Portland Institute for Contemporary Art

And at the Center for the Art of Performance UCLA:

Touring Europe this year for a truly impactful premiere performance I’m in! Production details soon…

July-Aug 2018

Los Angeles: original REDCAT as well as Walt Disney Concert Hall shows of a personal nature…details and ticketing:

As a culmination of my residency at REDCAT, I present a sneak peek of my ritual performance opera, composed, directed  and performed by me with choreography by Peter de Guzman, featuring the dancers and kulintang musicians of Malaya and the poetry of Carlos Bulosan.

I’m proud to be part of history in the making in that I also have the dual honor of being among the pioneering first to perform Pangalay on the Walt Disney Concert Hall mainstage. In collaboration with the Philippine Chamber Society, for Hibang Sa Awit.

Hallo! I love me some good description, especially for such a world premiere as this! I am utterly thrilled to be working with Adam Linder and Ethan Braun!

The WANT: Bernard-Marie Koltès’s play « In the Loneliness of the Cotton Fields » of 1985 could be a meeting between a blues musician and a punk. The play is a study of mercantile activities and nocturnal transactions in cruising. In addition, it is an exploration of people’s ability to understand each other. The work of Adam Linder regularly presents the HAU Hebbel am Ufer. His new piece – inspired by Koltès’ involvement with the « Deal » – is an opera with a composition by Ethan Braun and a set by Shahryar Nashat. « The WANT » is an exchange of four performers who sing a libretto with numerous lyrics from Jacques Derrida to Missy Elliott. Linder deals with the function of language as a drug that opens the door to the self between rational reason and ecstatic expression. Is not there a parallel between language that has become music and the dynamics of certain markets?

Oh! Happy New Year! First shows of the year, starting in Hamburg!

Touring! And I have more surprises lined up next year which I cannot wait to share…
